Over 200 people turned out at Walton Memorial United Church on Feb 11 to hear Sean O’Meara articulate the planning process and how decisions are made regarding development in Bronte and Ward 1 (which goes all the way up Dundas!). We learned that decisions are often out of the control of your local councillors. I followed with my take on four developments: Bronte Village Mall, South Oakville Mall, 320 Bronte Road and 3171 Lakeshore Road West (Cudmore’s Garden Centre Lands).
Bronte Village Mall seems to be on schedule with Building A topped off at 14 storeys. The other three projects are at the approval stage with a wealth of information about their development and site applications on Oakville.ca, which I interpreted and shared with attendees at Tuesday’s session.
Snapd Oakville attended so photos will be available soon.
A huge highlight of the evening was the food! Bronte’s newest restaurant Maurya East Indian Roti (@mauryaeastindian) generously provided their handmade pakoda and samosa chat and introduced us to the friendly service you can expect from them. I’ve already eaten at Maurya twice since the event!
La Parisienne Crêperie in Bronte also added their delicious house made almond madeleines.
