The Toronto Real Estate Board recently released the December 2018 Market Watch. What do the numbers mean?
Sales in Oakville ended the year at 2,886 for calendar year 2018 compared to 4,043 in 2016 and 3,290 in 2017. The trend over the second half of 2018 was positive but December 2018 sales were down by 25% compared to December 2017. Sales for 2018 were down 12.3% compared to 2017. Compared to December 2017, average prices were up 4% while active listings were down 11.5% resulting in 4.6 months of inventory in December 2018.
